Label design for the Gogarbha range.
The approach
A label is two designs on one surface. The front has about two seconds to work from arm’s length on a shelf. The back has to carry everything the law and the customer require, legibly, in whatever space is left. Treating them as one job produces a front that is cluttered or a back that is unreadable.
Design the range, not the bottle. Products get added. A label system — one grid, one type hierarchy, one way of handling the panel — means the next product is an afternoon rather than a redesign.
